How Can Notarizers Assist You inBackground Checks?

Many people require background checks at some point in their lives, but they are unsure how to obtain one. Whenever you need support, Notarizers is here to help!

We should first review a background check before discussing how they are obtained. Individuals or companies perform background checks to ensure that a person’s identity is verified by reviewing their criminal record, employment history, educational background, and other information that confirms the person’s identity.

When making future decisions, the ability to access details from the past, like previous criminal acts, is crucial. It is quite common for employers to conduct background checks during the hiring process. Apart from employers, other sources such as embassies, universities, and even immigration departments may request background checks to help them make an informed decision.

Our background checks aim to provide a complete picture of an individual’s criminal history.

3 Main Background checks types:

  1. CPIC – (Canadian Police Information Centre), which is a name & date of birth based criminal record check
  2. Fingerprint-Based Criminal Record Check
  3. Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) or Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).

Canadian Police Information Centre – Name & Date of Birth Based Criminal Record Check:

An RCMP National Repository of Criminal Records name-based criminal record check can be performed within one day using a person’s name and date of birth. Name-based criminal record checks are basic because they are based solely on a person’s name and date of birth, hence their name.

This criminal record check aims to determine if the applicant has committed a crime by comparing their personal identification with available criminal records. A local police agency conducts name-based searches.

Fingerprint-Based Criminal Record Check:

Because two individuals can never have the same fingerprints, a fingerprint-based criminal record check provides the most accurate information. In addition, many resources may require you to undergo this type of fingerprint-based criminal record check, including immigration departments, citizenship offices, and certain employment options.

You may be asked to provide fingerprints when a name-based criminal record check cannot prove a person’s identity. A certified criminal record check is performed here.

Under that set of fingerprints, it searches the database for crimes and arrests.

Criminal record checks are performed by the RCMP using fingerprints. On the day of your appointment, Notarizers can electronically submit your fingerprints to the RCMP.

Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) also called Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS):

Those who work with children and the aged or seniors, as well as the disabled, need to undergo a vulnerable sector check. Hiring companies and volunteer organizations decide whether to request vulnerable sector checks. At your local police station, only the police can perform the vulnerable sector check.

We can make the procedure very simple by managing all the paperwork on your behalf. To shorten this drawn-out process, our staff would be pleased to cooperate with you and provide you with comprehensive information about how to proceed.
